Comments about Storm Bowling Products Storm Tropical Breeze Black/Teal Bowling Ball:

Playing in a league (womens) for only 2nd time in my life so marked myself as Casual Bowler. This is my first personal bowling ball (yay, no more fingerhole cooties!). My team's (occasional) bowling coach recommended it to me after watching me bowl one afternoon. Not being that experienced a bowler, most of my comments are detail-oriented rather than comparison to other balls or performance. I was averaging 120 with the house ball, and the evening I took this ball in to get drilled, I rolled 131, 141, and 115. My scores are more about me than the ball, which responds consistently when I get it right.
Nice ball but looked "un-new" by the 2nd night out (maybe our lanes are rough on balls).
For a ball with name containing the word "tropical", if I have to get a snootful of aroma everytime it's anywhere within a couple feet of my face (opening bag, holding up preparatory to bowl), I would wish for something pleasant & appropriate like mango, pineapple, jasmine, or coconut-lime -- whatever scent "Horizon" is supposed to be, all I can think of is cheap men's aftershave...not a winner in my book, but not a reason not to get the ball, which is a nice ball for a very reasonable price at this e-tailer -- just know to expect it.
Almost embarrassed to mention, but I will -- the ball in the Storm promo pics is a beautiful teal swirled with a bit of black. My ball is basically dull black on 2/3 and a bit of muddy, black-swirled teal on 1/3 of it, which was slightly disappointing. But since it got bunged up, nicked, and scratched almost immediately (not sure what I was expecting, due to my inexperience, but somehow thought it would look "nice" for at least a couple of months, playing once a week) I won't be entering it in a "prettiest ball" contest.
Bottom line, for my level of play, I'm perfectly happy with it and am pleased with the price and service from this retailer.
